Juneteenth marks a significant moment in our nation's history - the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.The Diversity Awareness Committee at Job and Family Services held a special event today, honoring their resilience, courage and the enduring fight for equality and justice. Today's event was filled with soulful music, inspiring speakers and delicious food.Let's all take time this week to celebrate our diverse community, learn from one another and enjoy the rich culture that Juneteenth represents!

🚐 Beep, beep! 🚐 Have you heard the news? Employees at Job and Family Services have been working for years to turn dreams for a JFS On the Move (OTM) Mobile Unit into a reality. And now, it's finally here! "We can just pick up and go and dispatch basically anywhere in Montgomery County," says Ashley Harris, JFS OTM Management Liaison. "Anything we can do at the Job Center, we're able to do wherever customers need us." We'd like to give a huge shoutout to everyone on the OTM team whose hard work and dedication made this Mobile Unit a reality! Great job! Happy early Father's Day, Montgomery County! What an incredible day at the Celebrate Fatherhood event at the Levitt Pavilion! This event beautifully showcased the purpose of our Fatherhood Initiative: highlighting the positive impact fathers have on their children and their crucial role in their development. It also served as a powerful reminder that fathers have support not only from Montgomery County but also from our community partners. Thank you to everyone who made today so special!
