Bible Study Lesson-The Kingdom Of God- The Power Of A Seed
An 8 Part Christian Podcast Series

32 In this episode, I introduce the idea the "modern" church has a power shortage. I think it originates from not knowing the word of God. (And that's where I come in to help)

You and I are the church, and when I say the church has a power shortage, we don't use the word of God in our life as much as we should.

Noah just got off the Ark and built an altar to God, and sacrificed to God. God smelled to the soothing aroma and said in His heart He would never again curse the ground for man's sake or destroy every living thing as He had done.

Genesis 8:22
While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.

Mark 4:26-29
And He said, "The Kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know-how.

For the earth yields crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. But when the grain ripens, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.

Matthew 6:33
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

You and I have two things we can control in the seedtime and harvest declaration God declared inGenesis 8:22

God is never caught off guard, and He does wait until we pray to deliver the answer to us. Most of what you and I ask God for is already made available through God's grace.

It is our job to use faith and follow-through (action) to make something happen.

In Episode 7, I taught about the two Spiritual Beings found in Psalm 23

33 In this episode I continue the idea the “modern” church has a power shortage. I think it originates from not knowing the word of God. (And that's where I come in to help)

34 In this episode I continue the idea the “modern” church has a power shortage. I think it originates from not knowing the word of God. (And that's where I come in to help)

Adding to this lesson I want to introduce another scripture.

Galatians 6:7-9 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

I also want to introduce the concept of time I briefly introduced it on a previous podcast but God is not “caught” in time. He works outside of the time restraints we live in here on earth.

God's word will come to pass but it will take time.

Let me read you two scriptures in Genesis to illustrate what I'm trying to say.

Genesis 16:16, 17:1

Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to Abram.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.

Learning to use time in our favor is an important key to understanding the kingdom of God.

35 In this episode I continue the idea the “modern” church has a power shortage. I think it originates from not knowing the word of God. (And that's where I come in to help)

God is not in a hurry like you and I "think" He should be in a hurry. When God was here on earth He walked almost everywhere He went.

I talked about how God has a different "take" on time inepisode 6you can go back and listen

2 Peter 3:8

But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day.

36 In this episode I continue the idea the “modern” church has a power shortage. I'm going to shift “realms” in this episode from the natural seed to the supernatural.

1 Peter 1:22,23

Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

Mark 4:3-9

"Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the way side; and the birds of the air came and devoured it.

Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away.

And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop.

But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprung up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty in some a hundred."

And He said to them, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

Mark 4:13

And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?”

I think it originates from not knowing the word of God. (And that's where I come in to help)

God is not in a hurry like you and I "think" He should be in a hurry. When God was here on earth He walked almost everywhere He went.

37 In this episode I continue the idea the “modern” church has a power shortage. I'm going to shift “realms” in this episode from the natural seed to the supernatural.

Mark 4:13

And He said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?

The sower sows the word.

And these are the ones by the way side where the word is sown. When they hear, satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

These likewise are the one stone on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they stumble.

Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, except it, and bare fruit some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred."

38 In this episode I continue the idea the “modern” church has a power shortage. I'm going to shift “realms” in this episode from the natural seed to the supernatural.

39 In this episode I conclude the teaching on the power of the seed and I pull together the last seven episodes with the scripture I read from

James 1:21-25

Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.

But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
